Copyright & Takedown Policy

Qatar Supercars respects copyright — whether it’s a photo you took, a photo someone else posted that shows your car, or a credited image we’ve used under an open licence. This page explains how ownership works on the site, and exactly how to get something taken down.

1. Your content stays yours

Posting a photo or video doesn’t transfer ownership. You keep it. By posting, you grant Qatar Supercars a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, resize, blur, crop and share your content on the site and our official social media accounts, with credit to your username or Instagram handle. That licence ends the moment you delete the post or your account — except for social posts already published and reasonable backup copies. Full detail is in our Terms.

2. Openly licensed photos

While the community is still growing, a small number of posts use photos published under an open licence (such as Creative Commons CC0 or CC BY) from sources like Wikimedia Commons, so a marque or model isn’t left without a single photo. These posts are always marked “Editorial”, credited to the photographer by name with a link to the original licence, and listed in full on our Photo Credits page. We blur plates and faces on these exactly the same way as every member’s post.

3. If something here shouldn’t be — how to get it removed

  1. Report it directly. Open the post and use “Report this post” — this is the fastest route and reaches us immediately.
  2. Or email us at hello@qatarsupercars.com with: the post’s link, what you own or what’s wrong (your photo, your car, your face, a readable plate), and how you’d like it resolved — credit added, the photo removed, or further blurring.
  3. We review and act promptly. We aim to respond within 48 hours and to remove or fix a confirmed issue the same day. You don’t have to wait for a reply either: a post reported by three different people is taken offline automatically while we review it.

4. If a takedown was made in error

If you believe we removed or hid something by mistake — for example, you do own the rights, or the plate wasn’t actually readable — reply to our confirmation email, or write to us with evidence of ownership or permission (such as the original camera file, or a message granting you permission). We’ll review it and restore the post if appropriate.

5. Repeated infringement

Accounts that repeatedly post content they don’t have the right to share may be suspended or removed, in line with the moderation terms in our Terms.

6. Trademarks and affiliation

Car marque and model names (Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and the rest) are used on Qatar Supercars purely for identification, not as an endorsement. We don’t use manufacturer logos. Qatar Supercars is an independent community platform; it is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any vehicle manufacturer or dealer, nor by any Qatari government body, tourism authority or motorsport federation. “Qatar Supercars” and our logo are our own marks.

7. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Qatar, consistent with our Terms.
